Architect Tobias Wallisser is Professor of Architecture and Innovative Construction and Space Concepts at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design and co-founder of the LAVA (Laboratory for Visionary Architecture) architecture studio.
With offices in Stuttgart, Berlin and Sydney, LAVA explores current issues, such as how to sustainably deal with resources, and the creative potential of modern manufacturing methods for contemporary living spaces. The design of the central square in Masdar City, Masdar Plaza, was just one of the think tank’s many projects.
Tobias has also worked as an architect at the KTP studio, for Asymptote and at UNStudio van Berkel & Bos where he was named Creative Director in 2001. Together with Ben van Berkel, he designed the Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart.
